In these languages, the queen in chess or in card games is usually called by the same term as the kings in checkers. A case in point includes the Greek terminology, in which checkers is called "" (dama), which is also one term for the queen in chess.

The girls of the quinceanera court are called damas,  while the boys are called chambelanes . The damas and chambelanes will be with the quinceanera throughout the day and are usually with her until all her other guests leave.
